There are 48 countries in the continent of Asia. That’s a lot of places to attempt to visit and some are more difficult to get to than others. So instead of creating a personalized bucket list for every single place in Asia, I’ve decided to let reality bring me back to Earth and make a some-what-reasonable bucket list that I could potentially accomplish!
From what I learned & what I wished I knew at the time, Helsinki is not about sights and structures. It has to do with experiences and becoming a part of the Finnish culture. While you are spending time in Helsinki or neighboring cities try relaxing at a Finnish spa, or de-stress at the sauna, get your nerd on in one of the exquisitely designed libraries, embrace the coffee culture and devour the taste of the Nordic capital. Helsinki is the World Design Capital.
FOOD IS LIFE (obviously) and with the world being so big and filled with such exotic flavors and cuisines it only makes sense to eat your way through every city, country, and continent. While I spent two years in Europe, I had the pleasure of being able to travel to a number of different cuisines, naturally, I made a bucket list of the foods that needed to eaten, tasted, licked, slurped, chewed or gulped throughout Europe.
As we get older, we don’t often realize that our parents are getting older as well. As our time becomes less available, with our busy schedules and popping social lives, we slowly forget that the time we have with our parentals also becomes scarce. The truth is, and as sad as this sounds, I don’t think we realize how much we take our parents for granted. At least, in a personal aspect; I don’t think I could find the words or time to thank my parents for everything that they have done.
A weekend is never enough time to experience a city, but sometimes life gets in the way of letting us jet off to a new country. Rome is a city that you could easily spend months in, wandering through the ancient ruins, stopping at each gelato shop to sample every flavor; but for those of us that can’t live the jet-setter lifestyle, Rome is a city that can be discovered in a weekend; crunch time.
When I first moved to Europe to teach English in Spain, I dreamed of visiting every country on the continent. At this time, it was just that: a dream. I … Continue reading 28 Lessons from 28 Countries
Croatia should be one everyone’s bucket list and not just for the Yacht Parties and the perfect blue waters. Croatia is a land straight out of Game of Thrones (literally, parts were filmed there); filled with medieval history, intricate architecture, and jaw-dropping nature and scenery. If you have the time, expenses and patience the best way to see Croatia is a classic ROOOAD TRIP through the country. That is what my sister and I did during our European Summer Adventure together in 2016. There were certain parts of Croatia we opted out of and do an unforeseen incident (which resulted in taking the backroads from city to city) and instead of a famous population destination we chose to cross borders and check out a lesser known city.
SEVENTY-NINE. 79. That’s approximately how many museums can be found in Washington DC. I certainly have not had the opportunity to discover all of these buildings, not even close. I have been to some and a few of these I highly recommend you visit while in DC. I’ve compiled a list of SOME information about SOME of the museums to help you decide which museums spark your interest and you want to discover more.
I had the luxury of spending one week jaunting around the nation’s capital, getting my learn on, accumulating miles and sweat stains, and reuniting with some of my favorite people. Washington DC is an overwhelming city, with so many museum and monuments and such a diverse collection of cafés and restaurants I don’t know how even the people who live there have seen it all.
Washington is probably one of the most beautiful states I have ever been to. Yes, I am biased because I get to live in this gorgeous, green, mountainous and nature blessed state. But, you know I’m right . Washington State (otherwise known as the Evergreen State, see!) is pouring with Mother Nature’s beauty from state-line to state-line .
Teaching, in general, can be a daunting and stressful career path. But, regardless of how your situation may be if you are ever stuck in a rut and not sure where to turn next check out these five ideas to spark some creativity.
Puebla City is the largest and the capital city of the state of Puebla. In 1531, in a small area known as Cuetlaxcoapan (which means where the serpents change their skin), the town of Puebla City was born. Understandably so, because when you enter Puebla it is like walking through a rainbow; every building and street are decorated with bold and vibrant colors. The state itself is famous for mole poblano (a spicy chocolate sauce), and the beautiful and detailed Talavera pottery.
